He had never missed a class before, yet he hadn’t shown up for several days now.

Worried something might’ve happened, she had checked with his friends, but they were just as clueless as she was. So, she decided to ask the only professor they both shared directly.

But for some reason, there was a flicker of unease and discomfort on the professor’s face.

    ‘Did something really happen?’

“Well, since you’re his fiancée, I suppose it’s alright for you to know.”

Evelyn asked, her voice laced with concern.

    “Did something happen to Axion?”

The professor nodded slightly, then lowered his voice so the other students couldn’t overhear.

“It seems Axion’s magic rampage has begun.”

    “Pardon?”

Evelyn’s green eyes widened in shock at the professor’s unexpected words. Meanwhile, the professor, as if suddenly remembering something, reached into his bag and pulled out some study materials.

“By now, after this much rest, he should be a bit more stable. Could you pass these on to Axion for me?”

A little flustered, Evelyn accepted the materials and nodded.

    “Yes, I can do that.”

Since it happened to be Friday, she was already planning to head to the marquis’s estate. Using the excuse of delivering the materials, she visited the Valentino estate. Whatever had happened recently, the servants all looked deeply troubled, as if burdened by secrets they couldn’t voice.

“My lady, I’m afraid it will be difficult for you to see the young master today.”

The butler’s voice was polite, but there was an awkwardness to his tone that made Evelyn frown in confusion.

    “What do you mean?”

“Well… The young master isn’t feeling well. He gave strict orders not to let anyone into his room.”

“Still, please. I want to check on Axion myself.”

Maybe it was the concern in her voice, but after a brief hesitation, the butler relented and agreed to lead her upstairs. Standing in front of her fiancé’s bedroom, Evelyn carefully knocked on the door.

    Knock, knock—

    “Axion? It’s me, Evelyn.”

Just as she had expected, there was no response from the other side. Undeterred, she raised her hand again and knocked a little harder on the door.

Then, putting on a deliberately playful tone, she called out to the room’s owner.

“Axion, if you don’t open up, I’m just going to come in!”

    Thud—

Maybe startled by her words, she heard a crash from inside, like Axion had fallen out of bed.

‘Wow, that worked better than I expected.’

While she was quietly feeling proud of herself, the door finally clicked open.

    “What are you doing here?”

    ‘Ugh, this rude jerk.’

Without so much as a greeting, her fiancé went straight to the point. Evelyn held out the study materials.

“The professor asked me to give this to you, so I—”

But she couldn’t finish her sentence.

Even though it had only been a few days, Axion looked much worse than before. Worse still, his lips were pale, and his skin had lost its usual color. He even looked feverish, like he could barely stand.

‘If only healing magic worked on him…’

Unfortunately, during a magic rampage, healing powers were useless unless they came from an imprinted partner. It would take considerable time just to suppress the rampaging magic that had only just begun. So until Axion met his imprinted partner, his suffering would continue.

Knowing all this from the original story, Evelyn just couldn’t bring herself to say something as empty as ‘Hang in there.’ Because Axion hadn’t found his imprinted partner, he was destined to live in pain for the rest of his life.

She stared at her fiancé’s worn-out face and let out a small sigh.

    “Have you been eating properly?”

    “….”

His lack of response made it clear this wasn’t the first day he had skipped eating.

With a touch of feigned indifference, Evelyn handed him the special medicine bottle she had pulled from her bag.

Hmph. Just so you know, I don’t give this to just anyone, okay?”

For a body suffering from malnutrition and imbalance, this was basically a miracle remedy. Axion let out a faint chuckle and took the bottle she had personally brewed.

“I’ll make sure to drink it.”

‘…Huh? Since when does he listen this well?’

Narrowing her eyes suspiciously, she glanced over at him and asked.

“You’re not… Axion Valentino, are you?”

At her question, he replied in his usual, infuriatingly smug tone as if to ask if that was even a question.

    “Well, what do you think?”

Seeing that, Evelyn was convinced the man in front of her was definitely her fiancé.
