Thinking she had guided enough, Bianca tried to pull herself away, but Dexter, who had been pinning her underneath, held her by the back of the head and wouldn’t let go.

“Hht, wait.”

“This isn’t enough. Bianca, I’m greedy and have been starving for quite some time. I didn’t want anyone else’s touch except yours.”

“…Why?”

She couldn’t understand. She hadn’t done anything wrong to him. If anything, she was the one who should be angry. Hadn’t he also done something unforgivable to her? She wanted to confront him and ask him about it now.

“Don’t you understand? You’ll find out soon enough why I am so hung up on you.”

Dexter, who had been chuckling lowly, opened his mouth and licked the nape of her neck. Goosebumps ran down her spine and spread throughout her body.

“Concentrate. Otherwise, you’ll experience something you don’t want to.”

Bianca’s eyes widened at his words. Although it was fleeting, a terrible pain passed through her, along with a strong power flowing into her body. 

“Hu, huuk.”

“Bianca Astri.”

The voice calling her name rang even lower.

Seeing her gasping for breath, he suddenly lifted her up and sat her down on his lap. As Dexter gently caressed her back, she let out a slow breath under his touch. He buried his head in her shoulder as if he were holding something precious.

“You shouldn’t have run away. If you knew everything, you should have stayed by my side even more. You’ve abandoned me twice, so now you must pay the price.”

Despite the fact that it felt like she was drowning in deep water, Bianca didn’t struggle. She just relaxed and listened to his voice.

“I don’t care if I die again. I’ll die after you too.”

“Ah…”

She drew her breath as Dexter leaned in to kiss her once more, but she couldn’t push him away.

Tears welled up at the corners of her eyes and trickled down her cheeks. Unlike in their previous life, where she could always overpower him with her strength, this time she couldn’t. It might be because, in this life, the roles have been reversed.

Bianca felt helpless against the power that was taking everything from her. When she was an Esper, even a brief touch would fill her with power and relieve the tension in her body. The surging power coursing through her body, the sensation of connection between their bodies, and the satisfaction and pleasure that followed.

Her body responded to the sensation she hadn’t experienced in a long time. She should’ve pushed him away and screamed that she didn’t want this, though once her body had grown accustomed to it, it didn’t move as her heart desired.

Why was he making such an expression even though he was angry?

He seemed as if he was stifling his sorrow. At the sight of him looking like a puppy who had been abandoned and didn’t know what to do, Bianca looked at him resignedly. Since he wouldn’t let go no matter how much she struggled, it was better to wait until her anger subsided.

“You’re lost in thought again. Well, I guess this place is more important to you than your heart.”

He suddenly grabbed her breasts and roughly pulled them down, opening his mouth and gently nibbling on her nipple.

Espers possess heightened senses and supernatural powers, and overusing their powers could lead them to go berserk or rampage and become destructive to themselves and to everyone around them. Because of that, they need to be ‘guided’ by someone who can take in all that energy—and these special people are called Guides. They are usually managed by an institution or government and carry out their jobs to protect humankind. And it’s the institution that determines their ranks, like S-class, A-class, etc.

Guides and Espers should have good compatibility, determined by a matching rate. Usually, they would have similar ranks because the stronger an Esper, the stronger the guiding they would require and the better the Guide could soothe the Esper.

Different levels of intimacy are also more effective than others, so hugging usually works better than holding hands, etc. Similar to how it is in Omegaverses, Esper/Sentinels and Guides may mark or imprint one another, cementing and strengthening their bond together. Imprinting means the Esper and Guide can only trade energies with each other; because of that, the Esper can’t receive guiding from anyone else, and the Guide can’t guide another Esper.
