Though she is quick-witted and calm under pressure, she has a quirky and innocent side that doesn’t quite fit her ruthless profession. She has a soft spot for cute, beautiful, and fragile things. Whether that’s babies, animals, flowers, or even Maxim. She’s the type of character who’s tough with the strong, but gentle with the weak.
After a near-death experience on a mission, she is saved and baptized by Sister Sophia, which led her to repentance. She vows never to kill again and decides to retire, but the leader of the revolutionary army holds her weaknesses against her and assigns her one final mission.
That mission is to marry a man destined to die in the war and then quietly disappear as a widow. However, when her “husband” Maxim von Waldeck returns, she realizes he is the most dangerous man she’s ever faced.
